And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV)
Baptism, along with the Lord’s Supper, are the two ordinances given to the local church by Christ. These two gifts to the local church have been called “sermons for the senses,” meaning that by witnessing and participating in them we are not only reminded of the work of Christ, but we able to touch, taste, feel, see, and hear the goodness of God through Christ in them.
We believe that baptism should be received after a credible profession of faith, by immersion, in the context of the local church. If you would like to talk with one of our elders about the possibility of being baptized at South Point, please fill out the following form.
